FOS Champions Pro-Business and Pro-Patient Workers Compensation Reforms in Tallahassee

Your Assistance is Needed

The Florida Orthopaedic Society Board of Directors has instructed our lobbying team to move forward with the introduction of legislation during the 2019 Florida Legislative Session that would improve the quality and timeliness of care rendered to injured workers in our state.  The support and engagement of our members will be extremely important over the coming months as we promote a series of recommendations to improve the Workers Compensation system in Florida.

One of the cornerstones of our legislative proposal is expediting treatment authorization, referral to orthopedic specialists, and utilization of in-office ancillary services.   We want to hear any stories you have concerning patients whose outcome has been negatively impacted.

9th Annual Injured Worker Inspiration Awards

Submission Deadline April 30, 2019

The FOS Board of Directors is pleased to announce the 9th Annual FOS Injured Worker Inspiration Awards. The FOS Leadership is extremely pleased with the response we have received from the development of these awards. This year's awards will again be presented during the Opening Session of the Workers Compensation Educational Conference hosted by the Workers Compensation Institute. The presentation of the awards during the Opening Session provides an opportunity to highlight our members and the significant impact of musculoskeletal injuries and care in the workers compensation community.

The Injured Worker Inspiration (IWI) Awards were created to recognize the achievements of injured workers and their musculoskeletal physicians. Highlighting this year's most compelling stories of medical innovation and the conquering nature of the human spirit, these case presentations will both inspire and educate. Please join us as we celebrate the achievements of these remarkable patients and recognize the advances of musculoskeletal science.
