Florida Orthopaedic Leadership Scholarship

Deadline to Apply for Scholarship is Friday, March 16, 2020

The Bones Society of Florida and Florida Orthopaedic Society are extremely pleased to offer the 11th Florida Orthopaedic Leadership Scholarship. The scholarship is a collaborative effort between our organizations to further our mutual missions of life-long learning, personal and professional development, and representation of our members and our profession. It is our sincere hope that you will consider applying for this unique opportunity.

Over the past 10 years our scholarship has afforded one of our orthopaedic practice administrators the opportunity to advocate on behalf of the profession and be exposed to the various issues and advocacy efforts that the AAOS and FOS undertake on behalf of our members.  We are pleased to offer this opportunity to an orthopaedic practice administrator again in 2020.

Programming Information
The recipient will be a full participant in the NOLC events. This includes the following: educational seminars on the major advocacy issues impacting the profession; advocacy training seminars on how to effectively lobby members of Congress; networking opportunities with members of the AAOS and State Orthopaedic Society leadership from around the country; and the highlight, joining the Florida delegation in lobbying Members of Congress on Capitol Hill. In addition, the applicant must represent an orthopaedic practice with 100% membership participation in the Florida Orthopaedic Society from those surgeons eligible for membership.

Selection Process
All BSOF members submitting an application will be placed in a random drawing to select a winner. However, if an applicant attended the 2019 BSOF Annual Conference, their name will be placed in the drawing a second time, elevating their chances to win. This is an effort to recognize the commitment of our active members and provide an ongoing incentive for more active participation from the membership. At the time of the drawing we will pull a second name out of the hat that will be an alternate in case for whatever reason the recipient is unable to attend.

Directions for Applying

Please submit your information below. FOS/BSOF Executive Director, Fraser Cobbe will confirm receipt, eligibility, and how many times your name will be placed in the drawing.
