Urge Congress to find a common sense solution to surprise billing

Grassroots advocacy is a powerful tool for strengthening the voice of the orthopaedic community on critical health policy issues. In coordination with traditional advocacy efforts led by the AAOS Office of Government Relations, it ensures that your concerns and the interests of your patients are heard by lawmakers at the federal, state and regulatory level.

Get involved today by participating in an ongoing initiative below.

Together we can help shape the political landscape for the betterment of musculoskeletal care!

Recently, the House Energy & Commerce Committee and the Senate HELP Committee introduced legislative proposals that would benchmark all out-of-network reimbursements to a median in-network rate for the geographic area.Under the guise of protecting patients from surprise medical bills, Congress is pursuing an unprecedented transfer of market power.

The AAOS strongly opposes this approach and is working to advance a solution that maintains specialty access and protects patients while preserving your ability to fairly negotiate with insurers. We need your voice to urge Congress to pass a federal solution that protects both physicians ability to fairly negotiate and patient access.
