2016 Florida Legislative Session is in Full Gear

While Legislative Session does not officially start until January, Legislators from across the State have been busy in Tallahassee crafting an agenda to lead Florida forward. Your FOS has been extremely active over the past months representing your interests and setting the stage for a successful Session.

The following is just a taste of the critically important issues on which the FOS will be representing your interests:

  • Expanding Ambulatory Surgery Centers and Recovery Care Centers
  • Defeating Legislation that would Establish Medicare as a Reimbursement Standard for Emergency and Out-of-Network Services
  • Passing Meaningful Restrictions on Prior Authorization and Step Therapy Requirements
  • Securing an Updated Workers Compensation Physician Manual with increased Physician Reimbursement
  • Ending the Abuse of the Consumer Debt Statutes that Fleeces Significant Money from Physician Practices Across the State
  • Defeating attempts by Pharmacists to Perform Injections

Each of these debates will be intense. We need our members to be engaged.

Look for weekly Legislative Update Webinars to begin in January! Announcements will be forthcoming.

And encourage your partners and colleagues to join our efforts. Make sure they are members of the Florida Orthopaedic Society and the Florida Orthopaedic Political Action Committee. www.floridaorthopediccommunity.com
